Frequently Asked Questions

Preguntas Frecuentes

Document Translation

Our diverse, multidisciplinary team of professionals is ready to meet your translation and interpretation needs.

Inquiries regarding our general services for commercial, technical, or creative texts.
  • 1.
¿How is the cost of a translation calculated?
We generally base it on the word count of the original text, the technical complexity of the subject, and the requested delivery deadline.
  • 2.
¿In what formats can you deliver the files?
We work with the Microsoft Office suite, PDF, and specific design or code formats if needed.
  • 3.
¿Do you have native reviewers for each language?
Yes, all of our processes include a review stage by a second native linguist in the target language (Spanish, English, or French) to ensure the text reads naturally.
  • 4.
¿How long does it take to translate a document of X pages?
It depends on the density, but the standard average is 2,000 to 2,500 words per business day.

Certified / Official Translations

Inquiries regarding the translation of documents with legal validity before public agencies.
  • 1.
¿What is a certified translation and when do I need one?
It's a translation carried out by an authorized translator who certifies the accuracy of the document. It is usually required for immigration procedures, university degrees, birth certificates, or legal contracts.
  • 2.
    ¿Are your translations valid abroad?
Our translations meet the standards required for submission to authorities in Spanish-speaking, French-speaking, and English-speaking countries. (Note: It is always advisable to check whether the destination country requires a Hague Apostille on the original document).
  • 3.
¿Do I need to send the original physical documents?
To start the process, a high-resolution scan is usually enough. However, for the final delivery, you will receive the physical document with the translator's original seal and signature.
  • 4.
¿How is the official translation delivered to me?
We offer delivery by courier to your home or office, as well as a digital copy in PDF.

Interpretation

Questions related to our on-site or remote services for events and meetings.
  • 1.
¿What is the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?
imultaneous: The interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker (ideal for conferences). Consecutive: The speaker pauses so the interpreter can translate (ideal for small meetings or court proceedings).
  • 2.
¿Do you offer remote interpretation services (via Zoom/Teams)?
Yes, we have the technological infrastructure to cover virtual events in English, French, and Spanish.
  • 3.
¿Is it necessary to send supporting materials before the event?
Highly recommended. Glossaries, presentations, or agendas help us become familiar with the specific terminology of your industry.
  • 4.
¿Does the service include technical equipment (booths, headsets)?
We can manage the rental of the necessary audiovisual equipment or coordinate with your trusted provider.

Interpretation Logistics (On-site and Remote)

We’ll tell you how we carry out interpretations, both on-site and remote.
  • 1.
¿How many interpreters do I need for my in-person meeting?
    • For meetings under 1 hour: A single interpreter may be sufficient if the intensity is moderate.

    • For events longer than 1.5 hours: Two interpreters are required. Simultaneous interpretation demands an extreme mental effort; as an international standard, interpreters rotate every 20 to 30 minutes to maintain accuracy, avoid fatigue-related errors, and protect their vocal health.

    • Consecutive interpretation: For long bilateral meetings (such as an all-day negotiation), two professionals are also recommended to ensure fluency.
  • 2.
¿How many interpreters are required for a remote interpretation (VRI)?
    • The two-interpreter rule still applies: Even in a virtual setting, the cognitive strain is equal to or even greater due to auditory fatigue from wearing headsets and the possible instability of speakers' audio.

    • Technical coordination: In the remote modality, the two interpreters need a secondary communication channel (a "backchannel") to coordinate handoffs and support each other in case one loses their internet connection.

    • Short webinars: If the event strictly lasts 45-60 minutes, a single interpreter could cover it, but always subject to a prior assessment of the content density.

  • 3.
¿Why can't a single interpreter work throughout the entire day?
Interpreting is not just translating words, it's transferring concepts in real time. Studies show that after 30 minutes of continuous work, the quality of interpretation and the retention of precise data (numbers, names, technical terms) declines drastically. Hiring a pair of interpreters guarantees that your company's message is conveyed with the same quality from the first to the last minute.
  • 4.
¿What happens if my event is trilingual (Spanish, English, and French) at the same time?
In this case, separate booths or channels are required. Normally, you will need one pair of interpreters for the EnglishSpanish combination and another pair for FrenchSpanish. Depending on the setup, the "relay" technique can be used, where one interpreter translates what their colleague says if they do not directly master the third language.
